**General Objectives:**
By the end of this level, the participant will be able to:
1. Understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters such as work, study, and leisure.
2. Deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling or interacting with native speakers.
3. Produce simple connected text on familiar topics or personal interests.
4. Describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
5. Understand short authentic materials such as news, emails, or stories and write coherent texts using correct grammar and style.
